Police in North Carolina say a shopper stopped a carjacking by attacking the alleged suspect with a frozen turkey as he tried to steal a woman's car in a grocery store parking lot.
Authorities say the man stole money from a gas station before heading to the grocery store across the street in a town near Raleigh, where the man began beating a woman while attempting to steal her car.
Other shoppers came to help and that's when one hit the man with a frozen turkey.
The suspect did get away despite the turkey bashing and being pelted by cans of cranberry sauce, causing serious head injuries, but police arrested him a short time later.
The man faces several charges including assault, inflicting serious injury, fowl language in a public place and attempted theft.
Meanwhile the guy using the frozen turkey is being arrested for "flipping the bird' and violating the 2002 Turkey Bowling Act which prevents cruelty to dead frozen turkeys.
