MONROE, Mich. - The Democratic campaign took advantage of Labor Day celebrations here to let it be known that Barrack Obama stood on the shores of the gulf of Mexico yesterday and, like Moses parting the Red Sea, raised his hands up to the heavens calling on Hurricane Gustav to pass by New Orleans saving the historic city.
To celebrate the Gustav miracle, as it is becoming known, his running mate Joe Biden surprised everyone at the Labor Day picnic by putting on black face and doing an astonishingly good Al Jolson song and dance minstrel show. Biden demonstrated a strong voice and impressive showmanship that entertained the crowd and will surely serve the Democratic ticket well in months to come.
Making a grand entrance Biden got down on his knees and with arms outstretched and palms up he belted out a tune that took the house down.
Obame, Obame
Dear old Obame
How I love ya
How I love ya
Dear old Obame
You let the world, strike up the band,
You've got the banjoes strummin'
And now New Orleans is hummin
Since Obama brought Dixie back to Dixie land.
