Sending thousands of volts of electricity through the body of a restrained human being has been declared unconstitutional by the Nebraska State Supreme Court. Nebraska State Solicitor, J. Kill 'Em Kirk Brown argued that the law did not require the elimination of unnecessary pain, violence and mutilation.
Brown reminded the Justices: "The law says minimize and Old Sparky is far sight kinder than drawing and quartering or water boarding."
The Roman Catholic Bishops of the Nebraska Dioceses praised the court's decision. their official staement read: "The Roman Catholic Church believes that life is sacred from womb to tomb. We prefer innocent children living in povery and abuse, mass murderers suffering in prison for life and dying people dying really, really slowly."
