It seems Donald Trump does have some sense after all. Mr. Trump refuses to have a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. He won’t debate her on Fox News, PBS, or at Mar-a-Lago. Nowhere, no way, never. No second debate. He says it isn't necessary to debate Kamala Harris again because she already lost the last debate.
No problem.
Vice President Kamala Harris, a real trooper, decided to debate an empty chair instead. Ms. Harris intends to answer a question, and the camera will then swings over to the empty chair, remaining fixed on it for 30 seconds. Presumably, the empty chair will be Donald Trump’s silent, none reply.
Bingo!
Some suggested the empty chair might receive higher debate points than Trump’s debate against Kamala Harris on September 10. Certainly, the empty chair won’t start describing migrants eating cats and dogs that are house pets.
Debate managers, ensuring a fair and professional debate, stepped in and decided that, for professional purposes, instead of the empty chair, they should use an empty podium.
Kamala Harris was okay with that, too.
They even suggested that the podium should be made more realistic, complete with a bottle of water and a glass.
“Should we have water in the glass?”
“Why not? How about sound effects of water gulping down while the camera is fixed on the empty podium for thirty seconds?”
