Following an extended period of uncomfortable silence, a pregnant pause gave birth to a kitten.
"It was really something to see," sad onlooker Susan Harris. "First one pause, then four paws. So cute!"
Harris noted that she had been tempted to break the awkward stretch of silence with some friendly banter, but in hindsight, she is glad that allowed the pregnant pause to linger and come to fruition. "In hindsight, It makes total sense that it felt uncomfortable. Someone was about to go into labor!"
By all reports, the newborn kitten, Jesse, is doing well, and, in addition to making many adorable noises of his own, is the subject of many oohs and ahs of delight. That being said, Harris says that her experience with giving the pregnant pause some space has given her a new appreciation for the power of quiet.
"It just goes to show, there's no need to be talking, talking, talking all the time," she said. "We should all bear in mind that silence can bear wonderful fruit - and in some instances, a kitten!"
