San Francisco, CA. From Immigration News Service [INS] The scheduled immigration and Customs Enforcement [ICE] raids on illegal immigrants planned for today by President Donald Trump failed to take place here in this sanctuary city as large numbers of ICE agents failed to appear for work.
Many agents called in sick. Others took an unscheduled day off. Some refused to work on their religious holy day, Sunday. But many simply joined in the anti-raid demonstrations organized by pro-immigrant groups.
The protesting ICE agents argued that the raids were not designed to remove rapists, murderers, gang members or drug dealers, but would break up families by deporting productive workingmen.
As a result, the raids in San Francisco netted a handful of suspected illegals, some of whom turned out to be U. S. citizens.
