While outwardly praising him for his positive attitude and generally excellent behavior, Matt and Jenna Smith of Bozeman, Montana, secretly think their 12-year-old son, Tyler, is super lame.
"He never talks back, never makes fun of anyone, and I never have to remind him to do his homework," said Jenna. "Honestly, it's boring. I love him, but God, what a dork!"
Tyler's father agreed. "He's really into computers and video games - and English. And he has fantastic social skills. He doesn't even make a good nerd." Matt Smith shook his head despairingly. "If only he'd play some loud music or something. Jenna and I loved to rock it out when we were his age. He likes classical, if you can believe it."
Still, Jenna and Matt haven't given up hope on their uber-lame son. "With full-fledged puberty about to hit, maybe he'll pick up a little adolescent angst," said Matt. "Who knows, maybe we'll even catch him with some pot." At Jenna's skeptical look, he insisted, "It could happen!"
