Hunting Pony Tarburton, leader of the Anti-Red Sea Name movement.

CHEROKEE, North Carolina - There's a group of native-American's who are on the warpath in western North Carolina.

The group led by Hunting Pony Tarburton recently stated to American Spotlight Magazine that they want the name of the Red Sea changed.

Tarburton, who says he is a descendant of the great Cherokee Chief Sitting Squirrel, stated that a more appropriate name for The Red Sea would be The Native-American Sea.

He commented that he understands that it would entail having to change dozens of signs but he says that it is better to change dozens of signs than to offend hundreds of Cherokees.

Hunting Pony Tarburton was asked why his group was not protesting the name of the NFL team The Washington Redskins, which is a lot more offensive than Red Sea.

He grinned as he took a drink of his Big Red Zero soda and replied that his group has been trying to get the name Redskins changed for the past two decades (20 years).

He sighed as he said that the owner of the team is to put it simply, "One insensitive, uncaring, egomaniacal, pompous white man."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
