Denver, CO As the Colorado Girl Scouts of America organization announced a ban on selling cookies outside of marijuana dispensaries, thousands of Girl Scouts around the nation showed up in Denver to protest. They gathered in the area outside of the largest of the dispensaries.
Although Colorado has now legalized the once banned drug marijuana, the director of the Colorado Girl Scout organization still felt she needed to say, "There's a place for everything, and just like a liquor store or a gun show, a marijuana dispensary isn't a place for young girls to be selling cookies." This is in spite of the fact that most Girl Scouts feel that in front of or near a marijuana dispensary is the IDEAL place to sell Girl Scout cookies.
"I broke my monthly sales record in fifteen minutes outside of the Happy Days Are Here Again dispensary. I only stopped because I ran out of cookies!" spoke one unhappy Girl Scout.
"We will protest this all the way to the Girl Scouts Supreme Court if we have to!" vowed a Girl Scout troop leader.
