The Mile High City has just received a national honor.

DENVER - The city of Denver is still somewhat downtrodden after the Denver Broncos were blown away in Super Bowl XXII by the Seattle Seahawks 43-8.

But Mayor Michael B. Hancock has informed the Mile High City news media that Denver has just been named The Munchies Capital of The United States.

The mayor said that it is quite an honor since this year there were over 65 cities throughout America in the running.

He noted that Pomona, California, who won last year, felt that they were going to repeat hands down.

But the Left Coast city fell from number one to number four.

The Amalgamated Data Gathering Agency of Chicago, who conducted the survey poll, stated that they had a feeling that Denver was going to do very well due to the fact that the state had made the purchase and sale of marijuana legal on January 1, 2014.

SIDENOTE: One of Denver's leading grocery suppliers has said that they've had to increase their purchase of munchies such as Hostess Twinkies, Cracker Jacks, popcorn, and pizza.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
