CHICAGO - A Chicago family is mourning the loss of their son, who was stunningly killed when his mother let him play outside in their gang-dominated neighborhood at 4 in the morning Tuesday.
Jemichael Stevens was shot and killed as he screamed at and taunted a three men walking toward him on the street. He was shot and killed after he called the largest of the three men a "pussy-assed pig fucker."
"He was the nicest boy," his mother Marquita said. "Always polite and never talked back to anyone. I can't believe how senseless this violence is."
When asked about why her son was outside at 4 a.m. on a school night, Marquita Stevens told us Jermichael wanted to "get some fresh air" because his room was "full of smoke and shit."
