A New York bookstore owner has angered customers by placing top selling book 'The Bible' in the fiction section of his store.
Simon Hargreaves, 45, claims that the placement of the book in the fiction department was a mistake and has apologized to customers, blaming the mistake on a new employee who had "thought she had seen the movie".
"I employ college kids to help out at weekends" explained Hargreaves "and one of the kids, after browsing through the bible was convinced it was fiction, claiming that it was a bit like Harry Potter, what with magical beings, a kind of quirky plot and a lot of sex, violence and of course some odd characters."
Employee Debbie Tonks claims that it was an honest mistake.
"How was I meant to know it was a 'factual' book? I was sure I heard some of those stories before or seen them in movies. It was like a ghost story, war movie, sex romp, bizarre fantasy novel. I mean, come on, who on earth can blame me?"
At time of press the book had been moved back to its regular section in the store and is now placed with other biographical books written by unknown authors.
