Romney in Germany: "Eich Bain ein Berliner!"

Funny story written by b kenneth mcgee

US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney was in Berlin today on his world tour. He was accompanied by German chancellor Angela Merkel as he visited the Berlin Wall. The crowd was estimated at tens of thousands. Governor Romney began by saying, "Eich Bain ein Berliner!" The crowd cheered. He then went on to say how many thousands of high tech jobs he had shipped to Germany from Bain Capital when he was in charge. He winked and then said, "Haven't been too shabby by you since then either!"

Romney seemed to become perplexed as the crowd suddenly started to leave in large numbers. Trying to regain the enthusiasm of the assembled he pretended, (or said later he pretended) to goose Chancellor Merkel. She abruptly left and was heard saying, "And I thought Bush was dreck!"

As the crowd left in droves, Romney turned to his aides and asked furiously what had happened. An aide sheepishly answered, "Governor, there seems to have been a mistake. The local media announced that Rommel would be at the wall today! Everyone was so excited. Didn't you hear them singing, "Happy days are here again!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
