WASHINGTON - Experts were quick to point out that Ann Romney was not mincing words today when she told ABC News, "We've given all you people need to know" in terms of past income tax returns.
Linguists, however, were even quicker to disagree.
"I think the term 'people' warrants further attention," opines Harfold State College reading instructor Mohini Tambe. "I can't help but to render this word in this context as "white-trash motherfuckers."
"It's an awkward sentence to begin with," she continues. "When you read 'all you people,' at first glance one might think that that all belongs together as an indirect object as in, 'We've given all you people a phony bill of goods' or "a wet bag of shit.'
"But by 'all' she means 'everything' which you white-trash motherfuckers need to know."
According to Tambe, the translating doesn't end there.
"We then have to look at the all/everything reference. I think my colleagues in our coffee break room would agree that a proper rendering of the entire sentence would be, "We've divulged everything that's legal to you white-trash motherfuckers."
