T. J. McCorkle, a leading writer for the web site, The Spoof resigned from the site today to join the Rick Santorum campaign.
The site quoted from McCorkle's resignation letter; "It is with great regret that I must inform you I will no longer be writing for you on your wonderful web site. It has become perfectly clear to me, if you can't be funnier than people who are not trying to be funny, it is time to give it up. I am joining the Santorum campaign to work in a higher calling as a grief counselor. No more, "funny cuckoo, not funny hah hah." It is time to move on. When you see headlines like the following, you realize you just can't make this stuff up! I'm just not that funny!"
"Santorum Good for Chastity-Belt Sales? Manufacturer Says, "We've Had a Boost"
"Indiana lawmaker: Girl Scouts in league with Planned Parenthood."
In closing."
I can tell you this: I am not the only one. I have it on deep background that the entire staff of Saturday Night Live will be joining me before Super Tuesday! We are also waiting for news from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert who are rumored to have joined a trapist monastery somewhere in New Jersey.
