Adrian Chiles' temper was still a bit of a problem

Adrian Chiles shock move from the BBC to ITV may have been caused by volcanic ash. This is the hypothesis being put forward by Professor Stig O'Toole of the Institute for Television Studies at Milton Keynes.

Professor O'Toole examined the case in great detail. "For some time now Mr Chiles has appeared to be under a cloud. Many people thought that it was the combination of devotion to West Bromwich Albion and his unrequited love for his co-host on the One Sow, Christine Bleakley. Now we think he may have been covered by an Icelandic volcano."

Mr Chiles was said to be greatly concerned by these findings. He has become more miserable recently. Last week he was seen wandering the streets, muttering to himself "Bloody ginger bastard!"

Professor O'Toole added "When you are covered by volcanic ash you should avoid electrical items, especially television sets, otherwise you may endanger others."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
