The 40 year-old dress designer was found hanging in his wardrobe two weeks ago next to some rather iffy sartorial creations including a pigskin hacking jacket and matching tutu.
All of the fashion world's 'usual suspects' turned up for the sendoff this afternoon including Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney and the regular Z-Lister catwalk hangers-on.
Last week at the Brit Awards triple gong winner Lady Gaga very nearly frightened the whorses by appearing in a McQueen creation dubbed The Scarecrow.
Audience members were puzzled at her tribute to the couturier with some blaming Gaga's choice of outfit for events leading up to McQueen's death.
