TV GIANT Stephen Fry has been announced as the new face of Crisp'n'Dry.
Fry, 59, described the venture as a 'bit of fun' and claimed to have been a lifelong admirer.
He remarked: "I'm a massive fan of Mr Potato and one of the nicest ways to eat one is to fry it. Crisp'n'Dry fries beautifully. I've always used it.
"In fact when I was ill I used to drink it. I found it to be most soothing, so I'm thrilled to be able to spread the word."
Gavin Turtle, UK Head of Marketing added: "We're delighted that he's on board. Crisp'n'Dry, like Stephen, is yellow and smooth so it's a perfect partnership."
Despite the mutual appreciation, it was a slightly different tone on Fry's Twitter page.
He wrote: "I only took it to pay the bills. Plus they're sending me litres of the stuff. I suppose I'll sign the bottles then flog them all on ebay.
