The free pensioner bus pass could be a thing of the past following the next General Election. Whichever party wins the election they will be faced with a need to make cuts. The free bus pass for pensioners looks set to be one of the first casualties.
Why is the system under so much strain? Immigrants. People who have never paid in to the system are making damn sure that they are taking all its benefits. Recently a lorry was stopped in Dover by the Border ans Immigration Authority. Hidden on board were thirty five pensioners from Afghanistan. On being questioned they admitted that the free bus pass was the reason they had come to Britain. The Taliban is yet to introduce similar passes, claiming that the lack of a regular bus service in Kabul does not make such a scheme viable.
Britain is being swamped by geriatric asylum seekers. Desperate measures are needed. Already in local libraries the Wednesday morning Scrabble sessions are over subscribed. London's Mayor, Boris Johnson, has commissioned a report to find possible solutions. It is thought that Boris may opt to close all libraries, swimming baths and meals on wheels services as well as axing the bus pass.
If Britain had tighter oap immigration control this would never have happened.
