Whitehall: Ministry of Defence officials have announced today that they are now seriously considering the fact that the Taliban militia of Afghanistan may be considered a minor threat to British troops.
Once considered a close friend, ally, and major harvester of opium, during the cold war era, when the soviet union was considered the main foe, the relationship with the Taliban has since turned sour after the death of over 200 British soldiers since 2001.
Lack of, and modernisation of equipment, is reported to be the most common cause of deaths. Soldiers are complaining that they have been asked to use baking trays as flak jackets, ordered to make helicopter noises whilst patrolling in Ford Escorts and, fatefully, hand out sweets to the enemy during fire fights, to smother any resistance.
When questioned about the issue, the Prime Minister unswervingly stated that the latest rocket launch by North Korea was ''completely unacceptable''
