Internet administrators have appealed for restraint following a host of totally unfounded and very sick rumours about celebrity deaths.
Following the recent demise of Kung Fu star David Carradine, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson, and keen to cash in, certain unscrupulous websites have been widely reporting the demise of still very much alive celebrities.
One website reported that Angelina Jolie had been trapped in a tomb and suffocated, that Jack Nicholson had frozen to death during a murderous rampage at a remote Colorado hotel, and that Susan Sarandon had driven her car off a cliff, all of which proved to be completely without foundation.
Another site reported that Naomi Campbell had vanished up her own arse.
"This is just grossly irresponsible publishing," British publicist Max Clifford told us. "These people ought to be ashamed of themselves. One website even reported that the Queen had died because her head blew up. I mean, come on...where's the dignity these days?"
More rumour related ribaldry as we get it.
