An amazing interview with a former staff member of Adolf Hitler, who was in the Berlin bunker to the end, reveals that the Fuhrer was quite a joker, with a fantastic sense of humour who took infantile delight on playing tricks and jokes on staff and generals alike.
Eva Adcock, 89 now of Surbiton, revealed how the Fuhrer shared a joke with her mere minutes before he and Eva Braun committed suicide, demonstrating what a wicked scallywag he was, even as Russian artillery fire rained death down on Berlin.
She described how the Fuhrer gently took her hand and asked her:
"How do you keep a damned fool in suspense?"
Shortly thereafter, gunshots were heard and the Fuhrer and his lover lay dead.
"He never did tell anyone the answer," Miss Adcock sighed. "I've wondered for years what the answer to that question might be..."
