The grim discovery Tuesday of a man's skeleton sitting in a 1972 car has led Police to admit that there are some London streets which they haven't patrolled since the mid-'70's.

The car, with a tax disc expiring March 1976, has been sitting in a back street off Brick Lane and the owner is believed to have pulled up one night in late '75/early '76 to have a snooze and expired, maybe with a heart attack.

How the car never came to the attention of Traffic Wardens is not yet known. The road around the car is 3" higher where it's been resurfaced twice.

The car, registration number GFN61K, was a white Fiat 108, and Police are looking at Missing Person files to see if they can work out who the driver may be.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
