After an embarrassed government were informed that opposition MPs bringing the governments faults to the public eye, and trying to get them removed from office at the next election was not in fact sedition or treason and therefore illegal all the imprisoned MPs were released today.
A government spokesperson said "We still think it's a bit much that the opposition can show how useless we are at everything and we cannot do anything about it. How are we supposed to get elected when all our faults and foibles keep on being dragged into the public arena in this way? I mean we have been in power for over 10 years now and we have spent billions of pounds all over the place but all they keep bringing up are what we have got wrong.
"Surely experience counts for something, I mean our last Chancellor and our present PM had to learn the job as he went along and look at the mess we are in now. Do we want even more on the job training or should we not stay with the experience we have gained as things collapsed around us? There aren't that many things left we can mess up now so we are best placed to cause less further damage on the country than others starting from scratch and fixing what we screwed up.
"Now we are running out of ideas stay with us a bit longer and things should get better--maybe--I guess sometime."
