In the worst political faux pas that a PM-in-waiting can make UK foreign secretary David Miliband told an Indian TV channel that the Mumbai attack perpetrators "should be tried in that country so that the Pakistani judicial system (sic)takes its course".
When confronted by Indian reporters that he was just talking rubbish and his remarks were the worst case of "British wishy-washiness parading as foreign policy", Miliband privately agreed that Britain doesn't really have the balls to take on Pakistani duplicity because "we have millions of Kashmiris" living in Britain.
When asked what his country would do if there was a Mumbai-like attack on his homeland he said "Oh in that case we'll attack Pakistan".
He further proved his utter incompetence and political naivete by musing "I think given that we all have worked so hard for an independent, sovereign judicial system in Pakistan, we should let it take its own course." When asked by Indian reporters why Pakistan should be coddled and supported despite 8 years of duplicity instead of being nipped in the bud, Miliband replied "Gosh, I honestly don't know. These are the speaking notes I was given. I flunked my O-levels in geography"
Showing even further stupidity he made confusing statements by first saying that the Mumbai attacks did not have anything to do with the Pakistan government. He then believed that the suspects should be tried in Pakistan, despite the fact that Pakistan's actions showed it was incapable of doing anything beside lying. He finally agreed that despite all the evidence there would be no justice because of Pakistan's two-timing record and its official support of terrorism as a state tool.
When asked to explain what he meant by the statement: "We will support their prosecution under Pakistani law, because they have broken the law in Pakistan. It's Pakistani law they have broken as well as international decency and common sense," he said "Well, that's what the Pakistanis told me to say in support of my campaign to oust Gordon Brown and become PM".
He added, "Indians don't want words. They want action. We support that position." When confronted with the fact that his weak and vacillating comments showed UK had no plan for dealing with Pakistan and was only helping to further terrorism against India by these "absolutely stupid, moronic and inane statements", Miliband pleaded "Come on mates give a guy a break. I only planned to do a few photo ops and eat a few slap-up vindaloo curries and chicken tikkas. I don't have any answers - I'm just a useless, overly-ambitious, incompetent British politician who doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground".
