Ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair has angered current PM Gordon Brown and other leading ministers tonight, by saying in a speech that, far from being an overwhelming success, Team GB has been a failure and an unmitigated disaster!
Mr Blair was speaking to worshippers at his local Catholic Church, and was asked by one of the attendant worshippers, what he thought about:
"the fantastic success of Team GB."
Mr Blair became visibly agitated, and told the questioner that, in a little over a year, Mr Brown had reduced the country to a shambles. He said that the PM should have seen the Credit Crunch coming, or, at the very least, made provision for such a disaster. Fuel prices, he went on, were a disgrace, and the continued loss of sensitive information by various people in the Home Office was "unforgivable". He called for Mr Brown's immediate resignation, and said that he should take all of his incompetent ministers with him.
When the questioner managed to intervene to say that she had meant the Great Britain Olympic Team, Mr Blair readjusted, took a moment, and said:
"Gordon Brown should resign, today, and take Alistair Darling and all of those other cronies with him."
