In a case that could change the face of advertising throughout Europe, Carlsberg International has today defended it's position on the alleged use of provocative images to sell it's lager.
With reference to the image above, Managing Director, Paul Simms claims, "No way would I describe this advert as sexual. Critics are declaring that the picture used looks like a young lady practicing fellatio on a large black penis whilst looking longingly into the man's eyes. I'm sorry but I can't see this at all. Perhaps I am becoming too old in the tooth but I can't see anything remotely suggestive about this whatsoever."
He continued, "We have been sponsoring Liverpool Football Club for years. So what are we saying to lady customers?, "Buy our product and Steven Gerrard will give you one up the Royston Growler?
"I think not!"
When our current affairs Correspondent Peter Musgrove informed Mr Simms that the caption that ran with the photo read, "We don't give blow jobs but if we did they would probably be the best blow jobs in the world," the "Head" of Carlsberg decided to cut his interview short.
Speaking from her home in Hammersmith, London, Yvonne Marsh, spokeswoman for W.A.P. [Women against Pornography] said, "This is so typical of how female sexuality is used to market products to men. If this doesn't say, "Drink Carlsberg and get your Billy sucked then I'm a short haired, Dungaree wearing fanny muncher."
