'It is the last tattered fig leaf on a helmeted sculpture of Britannia - representing the past vast military and commercial conquest of the world by England - said journalist Boris Blathering - (who is part Irish).
The British Empire probably killed as many people as the Roman Empire - since they had better military technology.
At least they gave everybody good rail service - for the people who survived their occupation in so many countries.
Anyway, some countries are giving up their Commonwealth membership - they get nothing out of it commercially - and have to put with with periodic Boring visits by Royals. who come by - wave and smile and leave.
Useless PR visits.
Visits that do nothing economically for these countries, or the inhabitants - and remind occupied people of the lousy days of Life under the British Empire.'
