Thanks to the high budgets of ITV on New Year's Eve, the channel is showing the James Bond film, Skyfall, for the fourth time in the same slot, meaning a sense of continuity for grammar pedant Stanley Bridewater.
'For the past two years, rather than going out to the Flat Cap and Firkin pub, and pointing out to Shane the lack of an apostrophe in the New Year's Eve sign, I have been staying in with a Terry's Chocolate Orange, watching Skyfall. I know many people watch it for Daniel Craig, but I watch it for Dame Judi Dench. The scene at the end, where she dies, always brings a tear to my eye.'
We apologise for the spoiler. The film was released in 2012.
