US President Donald J. Trump and Lord Mayor of London Sadiq Khan hate each other, and are constantly tweeting about each other on Twitter.
Today, however, things went several steps further, as the pair upset one another so much, their tempers boiled over, and there was only one thing left for it: they arranged to fight a duel.
The war of words between Trump and Khan finally reached crescendo level this morning, minutes before Air Force One, with the US president aboard, touched down at London Stansted airport. Trump took to social media, typing:
"Kahn (sic) is nasty. He's a stone cold loser, and a nasty, nasty, NASTY man, and I don't like him. So there!"
Khan had earlier said that:
"it would be foolish to roll out the red carpet for that dollop of shit".
When Trump arrived at Immigration, Khan was waiting, and there was the briefest of scuffles, but the two were easily separated by a 12-year-old boy who happened to be standing around doing nothing.
Intermediaries stepped in, seconds selected, and the pathetic pair will now meet up later on tonight after the pubs have shut, for a 'round of handbags'.
No hair pulling will be allowed.
