The Football Association's executive board has agreed to abstain in the vote to decide whether or not to continue with Fabio Capello as England manager.
FA Chairman David Bernstein explained :
"All members of the executive board were unanimous in deciding to abstain in the vote on the future of the manager of the international team.
It was felt that the FA was not in possession of all necessary information to make a decision on such an important issue".
When asked by a reporter why didn't the FA , as Fabio Capello's employers, have all the facts at their disposal, Bernstein replied "Its not as easy as it sounds".
The FA chairman was, however, able to give a firm commitment that the matter would be decided sooner rather than later, although he wasn't in a position to say when that would be.
