Despite his side going out of the Champions League semi final at the hands of a Lionel Messi inspired Barelona side, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho declared his temperamental forward Christiano Ronaldo to be "the complete 21st century player and streets ahead of Messi".
Although the ex Man Utd player failed to impress in either of the semi final legs, the Special One is adamant that his signing has everything it takes for the modern game.
"He might not score as many as Messi or work so hard to regain the ball when he loses it or be a team player but he is definitely the ultimate professional", Mourinho crowed.
"He's good looking, has great pecks and a six pack you would kill for, and he is very marketable.
His brooding temperament on the park is an ad man's dream - his sultry looks and demeanour are a godsend to companies who want to grab a big share of their business.
So he's not half the player Messi is, so what ?"
