Fulham chairman Mohammed Al Fayed has caused a storm of protests after erecting a Michael Jackson statue outside Craven Cottage Stadium.
The unorthodox multi millionaire owner of the South London club was a personal friend of the late entertainer and Jackson even attended a Fulham-Wigan Athletic fixture in 1999.
But the move has infuriated diehard fans of the Cottagers as its alleged that Jacko was a closet West Ham supporter and the Hammers are of course one of Fulham's fiercest local rivals.
Legend has it that, long before he revealed his allegiance to West Ham, he had always been drawn to the East London on account of their theme song, "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", as it described perfectly the relationship he'd developed with his pet chimp.
