LA Galaxy star David Beckham is tonight said to be close to signing a loan deal with Premier League Tottenham Hotspur, but there are still a few details that need 'ironing out'.
Primary amongst these is an issue with Spurs' kit. Beckham isn't keen on the traditional white shirts and blue shorts, and favours something a little brighter which reflects his flamboyant style.
Pink has been mooted as an alternative.
The former Manchester United midfielder, just as famous for his fashion statements as he is for his footballing prowess, told Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp that the team's strip should also be cut from linen, to allow the players' hot, sweaty bodies to cool whilst they are on the pitch. Headbands would be an optional extra.
Beckham is making the switch from US to English football in the vain hope that he can worm his way back into the England national side at the ripe old age of 35.
Mug.
