And they're off!

Hull City, the team so unceremoniously dumped back into the Championship in May after two years in the top flight, got their new campaign off to a flying start with an extremely comfortable 2-0 win over Welsh Bastards at the KC stadium earlier today.

Spurs loanee John Bostock scored on his debut with a cracking 30-yard drive into the top corner, and veteran skipper Ian Ashbee also got on the scoresheet as the Tigers opened their account against the hapless Bastards.

The win takes Nigel Pearson's side into the promotion play-off places in 6th spot, and he told me afterwards:

"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssss!"

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
