VANCOUVER - Vancouver police were tipped off that there was a strong possibility that one of the Colombian players, speed skater Luciano Taquitos was in possession of a suspicious white powder.
Vancouver police broke into the room of Mr. Taquitos and found him in the kitchenette with a bowl of white powder. The police instructed him to lay down on the floor with his hands behind his back. He quickly complied with the instructions.
One of the officers Baptiste Camille remarked to the other officer Enzo Du Julie that they were both going to get a bonus because the Vancouver Police Department pays officers a commission on any drug confiscation.
When officer Camille bent down to check the bowl of white powder he found out that the bowl did not contain cocaine, but white powdered sugar. He asked what was up with that.
Taquitos replied that if they looked at the book on the counter, they would see that it was a cook book and it was turned to a page on making white powdered donuts.
Officer Camille turned red. Officer Du Julie turned red. And then Camille asked Taquitos where the cocaine was. Taquitos replied that he had no cocaine either on him or in his room.
Luciano then suggested that if they wanted some cocaine they would have to go to New York City, Detroit, Los Angeles, or one of the cocaine factories in Colombia.
Officer Camille asked him if he was trying to be funny. Taquitos replied that the way it looked, both of the officers had that category already cornered.
The two officers took the handcuffs off. They apologized and offered to give him $25. Mr. Taquitos laughed and told them that they had better save their money so that they could use it to hire an attorney.
Officer Du Julie asked what he meant by that remark.
Luciano grinned and said that his uncle, Fulano De Lagartijo is one of the best lawyers, not only in Colombia, but in the entire continent of South America. He then said that uncle Fuli would be giving the Vancouver Chief of Police a call within the hour.
SIDENOTE: The two officers left with the bowl of white powdered sugar. Taquitos looked out his room window and he could see that Camille and Du Julie were yelling and putting the blame on each other as they pushed and shoved each other all the way to their patrol car.
