They said it could never happen but two identically named horses shall face off against each other in a battle - a battle of horse racing proportions. Which is not particularly a battle and more of a minor skirmish.

But anyhow, these two giants of the equine world will compete in a two horse race in the local sports ground on the 25th of this month.

If you are reading this article in February then the race has already happened because I was of course referring to the 25th of January, fool.

The pure-white 'Never the Twain' is a 3-year old filly with a fondness for fine wines, long walks on sandy beaches and eating carrots. She has won her previous 5 races and is owned by Abdullah McGullah from Norwich.

The brown-nosed 'Never the Twain' is 4 years old and enjoys go-karting, playing hide-and-seek and nibbling sugar cubes. She has a record of 5 wins and 2 Ko's. She is owned by Mr. Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings, from Birmingham.

Bookmakers have placed both Never the Twain's at joint 4/5f to win. They've also placed both of them at joint 4/5f to lose or draw.

Both horses squared-off at the weigh-in and made idle gestures and threats.

The race will be promoted by Don King and he intends to keep all the money and run away to the Bahama's with it when everyone's back is turned.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
