There was shock in both the Sport and Scientific communities today as a Manchester United spokesman revealed that 17 year old star Federico Macheda was genetically created as part of a youth construction programme run by the club.
It appears that "Operation Fledgling" was one of the first things that Sir Alex Ferguson put in place at the club when he joined in 1986.
Macheda (which is Italian for "Scientist") born in 1992, was the first succesful product of the programme which combined genetic information from the clubs existing players in the search for the genetic makeup of the perfect player.
The spokesman was even able to reveal the exact percentages of genetic information which had gone into the construction of the latest United prodigy. The players who contributed their genes were;
Mark Hughes 18%
Bryan Robson 37%
Paul Ince 7%
Andrei Kanchelskis 15%
Ryan Giggs 22%
Neil Webb 1%
The spokesman went onto to describe how members of Macheda's family have been actors hired to create an air of normality for the youngster. However fear of potentially leaked documents have caused the club to come clean.
It is believed that a disagreement about the morality of the programme is the true source of tension between Ferguson and Gary Lineker who has campaigned for a number of years against the genetic construction of Football players.
It is unknown at this time whether FIFA will take any action against the club.
