Manchester City is, as everyone now knows, a very rich club. Few realise the vast extent of their wealth however. It is rumoured that they have the resources to buy Belgium!

With Britain sinking inexorably into a deepening depression it falls upon the club to help the nation.
The economy needs to be stimulated by spending and who better than Manchester's 'other' club. They need to buy players if they are to make it into Europe and they need to spend big!

There is a catch however. Buying foreign players will not help the British economy; they need to invest in home grown talent.

Inexperienced players are a bit of a gamble but there is one legend who has nothing to prove: Dean Windass! Sure he picked up a cruel booking recently for merely passing the time of day with Rory Delap but at nearly 60 years old he has oodles of experience and guile.

It is feasible that Hull City could be persuaded to part with their beloved 'Deano' if the price is akin to an Australian cricket score.

What's more, Mark Hughes was recently snapped by the paparazzi visiting the KC stadium.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
