Rumor has it the pontiff will be in the US early next year to recruit Jimmy Johnson to coach Notre Dame to a championship year.
The pontiff, who is changing his name to Ron Paul I, is troubled that many think God is no longer Catholic because of the 1-9 season for Notre Dame. He believes Jimmy Johnson can recruit new talented high school players from Miami Area, without requiring them to have any religious background.
Johnson, himself not religious, is demanding a huge salary to consider such a deal, and he also is demanding to stay in Florida and work remotely. "This is primarily a recruiting job, I am not moving up north," Johnson stated.
If the deal doesn't work out, Pete Carroll is also being considered. Reportedly the salary could go as high as several million dollars a year.
