Vatican City, Italy (IP) - The Pope has had to refinance Vatican City and was fortunate to be able to do so during a period of falling interest rates.
He had lost a lot of money betting on Notre Dame and was in danger of having the tiny City foreclosed upon.
It has been reported that the precious jewels embedded in the walls and displayed elsewhere are gone due to the unfortunate turn of events for Notre Dame's football team and in turn the Papal "pad".
The Pope's scientific team has come up with a solution to Notre Dame's football woes. They are going to water the turf in their football stadium with Holy Water and they believe that Notre Dame will have a perfect season next year. They have already placed preliminary bets with some Las Vegas wagering establishments while the odds are at their most lucrative percentages.
