Cleveland, Ohio (IP) - Bugs disrupted an Indians-Yankee game in Cleveland last night. There were so many bugs that they were picking up the players and dropping them from mid air while in flight.
Mosquitos often pick up their prey and drop them so their prey will bleed and this makes it easier for the mosquitos to feed. Since the average baseball player weighs about 220 pounds it is estimated that it would take 7 trillion mosquitos to pick up one man.
Despite the large clouds of bugs lurking about the game continued and players were swallowing and spitting out mosquitos. It was almost as ugly as watching players spit out chewing tobacco or just plain spit as they often do as soon as they become aware that the TV cameras are being aimed in their direction.
