The Texas Rangers, one of the teams to have never played in a World Series, became the first ones in over 110 years to score over 30 runs in a game. The Rangers, playing on the road against Baltimore, routed the Orioles by the score of 30 to 3.
The game started slowly for the team from Texas, who trailed by three runs after three innings. Then, in the fourth inning, they scored their first five runs.
The team, sporting a new look in uniforms with their new corporate sponsor, B.A.L.C.O. on the sleeves, were impressive at the plate, getting 29 hits. This was the most in the majors for a game in almost 15 years.
Afterwards, it was impossible to drug test all of the players as, said Major League Baseball Official Toby Acojuice, "we just don't keep that many piss cups around for one game, but maybe we ought to start."
