Indianapolis, Indiana. The once-feared Indianapolis Colts will open the 2019 National Football League season "out of Luck." They will be without their star quarterback, comeback player of the year in 2018, Andrew Luck.
Luck, who unexpectedly announced his retirement from football during a pre-season game last Saturday, cited a multitude of injuries, which kept him off the field during the entire 2017 season.
The Luckless Colts will need lots of luck to finish the season in contention for a playoff spot. Las Vegas now pegs the Colts at 100-1 to even get to the Super Bowl.
Many fans booed Luck as he walked off the field on Saturday. They apparently hold to that old theory that a guy should be ready to do AND die for the team. Unfortunately, as Luck is aware, a good many have indeed died from those injuries after retiring, but much too soon.
