In what is either a publicity stunt or a desperate desire to find a very qualified clip board holder the Eagles tried out Tim Tebow despite the fact that they just traded for Sam Bradford and re-signed Mark Sanchez.
Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the Philadelphia Eagles was asked about the odd decision to bring in Tebow despite very recently making moves that clearly solidify the quarterback position, "We were pretty confident that Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray would be great assets on the field; we just aren't sure they'll deliver on the merchandising front."
Asked to elaborate Lurie went on, "Any new star is going to generate some jersey sales, but nothing brings home the bacon like getting that "T-E-B-O-W" printed on the back of one of those babies!"
Asked in what football capacity Tim Tebow might be used Chip Kelly explained, "Well... He'd make a great change of pace guy to throw in for some "gadget" plays."
Asked if he thought it would be worth the headache that follows due to Tebow's rabid fan base coach Kelly responded, "Are we talking cash worth in merchandising terms or are you just asking me from a figurative perspective?"
No news as to whether the Eagles are actually planning on signing Tebow, but you know that already because the internet hasn't exploded with people screaming fervently for and against the move in equally loud measure.
