Bernard Cribbing has been asked to round up all the remaining Wombles on Wimbledon Common with a view to transferring them to a giant theme park to be built on the site of the soon to be demolished Wimbledon Tennis Courts.
The courts, mainly a place to see people annihilate British players are just a huge embarrassment now. Wombles, who do not breed in captivity can live only on Wimbledon Common or the Lawn Tennis Clubs. Bill Oddity, of bird watching fame has long been concerned about the endangered species and has worked to prevent them becoming extinct. The new theme park may incorporate other endangered species like Ronnies.
