SOCHI, Russia - Tennis legend Anna Kournikova flew to Sochi, Russia to see her life long friend Kendarla Singwesi of Indonesia compete in the XXII Winter Olympics.
Anna told Zorro LaBamba with The Sports Bet Gazette that she promised Kendy, as she calls her, that she would support her in her quest to win a gold medal in figure skating at the Sochi Olympics.
Kournikova, who is no longer dating singing sensation Enrique Iglesias, Jr., said that Kendy has been one of her biggest tennis fans.
The 32-year-old blonde said that Singwesi has 9-year-old twin daughters that she named Kourni and Kova.
Anna got very serious and revealed to Mr. LaBamba that when she was going through her breakup with Enrique that Kendy was the one person that was there for her.
The tennis star said that Kendy cheered her up by telling her an endless amount of Sarah Palin jokes plus she swears what was probably about 200 knock-knock jokes.
SIDENOTE: Anna was asked if there is a certain male in her life at the moment. She raised her eyebrows and said that she recently went out on a date to Knotts Berry Farm with Maksim Chmerkovskiy AKA The Bad Boy of The Ballroom of Dancing With The Stars fame.
