Tampa, Florida - Florida being the only state without snow for a couple of times now has allowed the New York Yankees to begin working out. Of course the big story here is that Derek Jeter is retiring at the end of this season.
After announcing his leaving the Yankees after spending his entire career here, he told reporters it was sad but that maybe he could go out with a World Series ring.
Asked by a reporter if he was going to stay with the Yankees in another job, he told them that he had considered the possibility.
"It's too early now but after the season and I get to missing the game and all the great Yankee fans, I would consider becoming a coach, especially here. But I can't answer that now."
Jeter leaving the Yankees is about the direct opposite to that of Alex Rodriguez who has been suspended for a year for using illegal substances.
Jeter stated that he had nothing to say about his teammate but that he would continue to be friends if he comes back to the Yankees in 2015 or somewhere else.
"If you want to know anything else about Alex, ask him."
Unlike Alex Rodriguez, Jeter is definitely headed for the Hall of Fame.
