Makatala blames his being six pounds over the 500 pound limit on Big Macs.

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco 49ers are the first team to be affected by the NFL's new 500 pound player weight limit rule.

Coach Jim Harbaugh said that he hated to cut defensive tackle Kainano Makatala just before their season's opener against the Green Bay Packers.

One of the 49ers trainers weighed Makatala in the locker room and his weight was 506 pounds or 6 pounds above the required 500 pound limit.

The defensive tackle, who is from Samoa was told that he was being suspended for one week.

He was advised that he will be weighed again before the next game and if he can get below the 500 mark, he will be reinstated, if not he may be cut permanently.

SIDENOTE: Kainano Makatala was asked by The Turnstile Review's Buckaroo Kazoo what he feels caused him to go over the weight limit. Makatala shrugged his shoulders and said, "I guess it may have been the six Big Macs I had on Saturday night.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
