BOSTON - Word coming out of the Vatican is that the Catholic Church has requested that the NFL New Orleans Saints change their name.

Vatican Spokesperson Polo Pizarro, 83, said that due to the recent cheating scandals involving several players as well as the head coach and other team personnel the Catholic Church feels that a definite name change is in order.

Pizarro stated that it is just not a matter of it being a sports thing since he pointed out that Pope Francis I, the Vatican, and the Catholic Church have no problem at all with the MLB San Diego Padres using the Catholic name Padres.

Sporting Chance Magazine's Hercules Confetti managed to speak with a representative with the Saints organization named Kincaid F. Micklerweiser.

Micklerweiser stated in no uncertain terms that the New Orleans Saints organization does not make it a habit of having any private organization try to dictate to them what they should and should not do.

He suggested that the Pope, the Vatican, and the Catholic Church concentrate on the hundreds of millions of dollars that some of their priests are costing their church due to their unforgivable hanky panky exploits.

SIDENOTE: Micklerweiser informed Sporting Chance Magazine that effective immediately they are terminating the Catholic Church's contract with the New Orleans Saints organization which allowed them the free use of the New Orleans Superdome for the Friday Night Bingo Extravaganza's.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
